Welcome to the Barnsley Multicultural Youth Committee page!
Barnsley Multicultural Youth Committee is a group of young people aged 11 to 19 from different ethnic backgrounds who meet every two weeks at Barnsley Town Hall
The aims of Barnsley Multicultural Youth Committee:
- To give black and minority ethnic (BME) young people the opportunity
to participate in decision-making processes to enhance the quality of their lives - To help adults recognise the contribution that BME young people can
make within their community
Most importantly our aim is to ALWAYS HAVE FUN AND SOCIALISE!!!
Some of the work we have been involved in:
- Girls only residential to Butlins
- Residential to Herd Farm Leeds
- Planning an event to help young people to get their voices heard
- Ice skating
- Alton Towers
- Making of DVD about some of the issues faced by young asylum seekers
